LEOPARD HILLS PRIVATE GAME RESERVE Leopard Hills in the Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve is one of the top private game reserves, offering impeccable service, well-appointed suites overlooking the untamed African Lowveld, and close encounters with the Big 5. Leopard Hills borders on the Kruger National Park, where elephant, lion, leopard, rhino and buffalo - the Big 5 - roam freely between the two game reserves. The range of wildlife is not limited to the Big 5 however; an enormous variety of other birds and animals can also be enjoyed and photographed in the stunningly beautiful Leopard Hills Private Game Reserve.
Leopard Hills Safari Lodge provides its guests with a choice of just 8 private glass-fronted hilltop suites overlooking an active watering hole. Each spacious suite is luxuriously decorated with comfort and luxury in mind and yet retains the feel of Africa. The private sundecks and plunge pools that are attached to each suite provide a glorious view of the African bush and the air conditioning and overhead fans provide a welcome coolness against the African heat. Leopard Hills is in the western sector of the Sabi Sand Game Reserve and is approximately 500 kms due east of Johannesburg in the panoramic Mpumalanga area. There is easy access to the lodge by road or by air, either with a private charter plane directly to the airstrip at Leopard Hills, or with a commercial airline to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport where there is a further 2 hour drive or a 25 minute flight on to the lodge. The Sabi Sand Game Reserve became an official reserve in 1949 and in 1962, changed from a hunting reserve to a photographic safari conservancy. It has become well known for its selection of exclusive lodges, one of which is Leopard Hills, with an impeccable reputation for luxury and service. Guests at Leopard Hills Safari Lodge have the choice of titillating the tastes with fine cuisine and excellent wines in the five-star restaurant, or a fine evening under the African sky at the traditional Shangaan boma where guests gather around a crackling fire to enjoy a sumptuous meal. Breakfast is a traditional full English or Continental breakfast, and a delightful lunch is served under the umbrellas. An early morning or late afternoon game drive in an open safari vehicle with a Game Ranger from Leopard Hills is a perfect opportunity to take amazing photographs. The Rangers are very knowledgeable and will be able to answer both your photography questions and questions on wildlife. A Game Ranger will also accompany you on a walking safari in the early morning where you can get up close to the African bush and see small animals that you may miss on a game drive. Other activities available at Leopard Hills Safari Lodge include a massage in the glass-fronted sala, a workout at the well equipped gym, browsing through the well stocked library or just sitting out on the deck at the main lodge with a pair of binoculars and watching the wildlife come down to the watering hole. Come and enjoy the unforgettable peace and tranquillity of Leopard Hills Safari Lodge – be prepared to be enchanted. |
